PICTURE POST CARDS OF WITBANK by John Bird

The back of each used Post Card can be matched to the picture as follows:-

Read from L to R and top to bottom on the scan.

Picture 30        A=22   B=25   C=19   D=24
Picture 31        A=15   B=17   C=10   D=16
Picture 32        A=12   B=09   C=11   D=03

Picture 23 has a plain back i.e. a photograph. It comes from a set of photographs of South African towns published in the 1950’s I think.

Picture 18 is probably a book mark from the 1940’s.

The balance of the pictures are all unused Post Cards and therefore more difficult to date.
